This year, the first season of the crime comedy created by and directed by Sicilian comedians is available in streaming: the plot and all you need to know about the characters is here.
Netflix gives us a nice gift for New Year’s, hoping to make this day more cheerful and carefree. As of today, you can stream Stuck, the first series written, directed, and performed by Except Ficarra e Valentino Picone, the team behind SummerTime and 7 and 8.
The two Sicilian actors and authors have created a light and fun crime comedy where there is no shortage of twists following the most-watched Italian film of 2019. How does Incastrati explain that? What other actors appear in the series along with the protagonists?
All the details about the series are here. The plot and character descriptions so that you can better enjoy the story – a very humorous comedy of misunderstandings.
Incastrati: The Plot
Incastrati tells a crime story in the perfect comedy style of misunderstandings in six episodes of 30 minutes each. The story revolves around two technicians (Ficarra and Picone) who repair household appliances and are also friends and in-laws. One day, despite their friendship, they become involved in a murder.
Attempting to escape the crime scene, the two get into more trouble in a series of bizarre events that lead to a confrontation with the mafia. Picone and Ficarr are the directors, and they co-wrote the series with Fabrizio Test, Leonardo Bean, and Maddalena Ravagli. There is also Nicola Picone of Tramp Limited.
Incastrati: The Cast
Incastrati also stars Marianna di Martino (Agata Scalia), Anna Favella (Ester) and other popular Sicilian actors. These include Tony Sperandeo (who plays mafia member Tonino Macaluso, “Cosa Useless”), Maurizio Marchetti (the goalkeeper Martorana), and Mary Cipolla (Esther and Valentino’s mother, Antonietta).
As well as Domenico Centamore (Don Lorenzo, “Primo Sale”), Sergio Friscia (as journalist Sergione), and Filippo Luna (as Deputy Commissioner Lo Russo). Gino Carista (Brother Armando) and Sasa Selvaggio (Alberto Gambino) are also present. Also starring Leo Gullotta in the role of Attorney Nicolosi. But let’s look at the protagonists of this story in more detail.
Salvo Ficarra and Valentino Picone
Their company sells and repairs household appliances. As part of their job, they go to customers’ homes every day in their company van, traveling through the city and province. In spite of his apparent traditionalist views, Salvo is a dynamic person who is very attached to his time. I love crime series and am eager for an adventurous life full of twists and turns.
On the other hand, Valentino has a calmer and more reflective nature, has never been married, and has a very close bond with his mother. His world view is more open than the one of his friend-brother-in-law, and he is happy with his life.
Marianna di Martino is Agata
Her position and responsibilities within the State Police make her a close friend of the two protagonists. A woman who leads her fight against crime with vigor and consistency. She is energetic, independent, and emancipated.
Anna Favella (Esther)
Salvo’s spouse. Vibrant, outgoing, and strong-minded. Despite being deeply in love with her husband, to whom she devotes all her attention and love, she is also a free and independent person. She is a strong and determined protagonist on a path of transformation and maturation that will lead her to contemplate her own existence.
Tony Macaluso, aka “Useless Thing” (Tony Sperandeo)
Having grown up under the mafia’s aegis, he is an old-fashioned man. As a young man, he dreamed of becoming a boss of the highest order, but a series of metamorphoses, on the one hand, and some personal weaknesses on the other, have led him to remain in limbo. It’s impossible to imagine him without his boss, the foul-mouthed Holy Father, who used to be impregnable and is now almost legendary.
Sergione (Sergio Friscia)
He’s the former schoolmate and friend of Salvo and Valentino. Assault journalists are always ready to chase the news wherever it occurs. He regrets the past “good times” and can’t stand this arid present of real scoops. He dreams of the return of a “new mafia war” in Sicily and, when things get going again, he is happy to tell all the details.
Leo Gullotta (Attorney Nicolosi)
An honest, reliable man who spent his entire life in the service of the state, he tirelessly fought against the crime and underworld that plague the country.
Lo Russo (Filippo Luna) is the deputy commissioner
Friend of Agata, a distinguished and calm man. Thoughtful, serious, and irreproachable; esteemed by his colleagues and feared by criminals and offenders alike. He is more of a thinker than a doer. However, he will not shirk taking action when needed.
