He decides to give up on being a serial killer and instead decides to pursue his dreams of being an actor. But it is not that easy to take a fresh start when you have killed a ton of humans and even know where they are buried. It will also give us the villain origin story of Barry. After all, what events led to him being a killer? As the trailer is also out we now know a great deal of information about the upcoming threequel.
‘Barry’ Season 3: Release Date
Barry Season 3 is scheduled to premiere on 24th April 2022. And it has 8 episodes in total! It will air exclusively on HBO only. So, a subscription will be quite helpful in this case. The creators revealed in an interview that they first mapped out the ideas for the 4th season which made the production of the third installment quite easy. So, now we know that after the third season we’ll also be getting Barry Season 4!
When Hader was asked about the third season of the show said:
“Season three, more than anything, shows the ramifications of [Barry’s violence]. Even more bad things happen. Mostly bad.”
But what took so long for the show to finally get a third season? The main reason for this delay is Covid 19! Due to the lockdown the third installment had to suffer. And it took even longer because the creators then started focusing on the 4th season. However now that the creators already have a plan for the 4th season the gap between the 3rd and 4th season will be shorter! Alec Berg and Hader have both served as executive producers of the third season.
Trailer
The footage that we got recently gave us a short recap of the events of the third season. Fuches finally exposed Barry as the murderer of Detective Moss. And also shed some light on the close relationship of Barry and his acting teacher. And it also teased that the upcoming season will show Barry fighting his inner demons. He’ll be torn between what to choose for his future.
The trailer also featured multiple familiar faces which has confirmed their comeback in the show. These faces include Noho Hank and Sally. The trailer suggested that Barry will get together with Sally in Barry Season 3. The main theme of the upcoming season seems to focus on becoming a better version of themselves. Almost every character will suffer a mid-life crisis which will make them transform into either a good version of themselves or an even worse one!
The filming for the third season began quite recently in August. And now that we are finally getting a third season it seems surreal! When Alec Berg was asked to share his thoughts on the third season he revealed:
“What’s interesting: All of the wreckage of seasons one and two that Barry had to do to keep the plates spinning … all goes back to his decision to become an actor. I really enjoy the fact that everything that happens in the show is a consequence of Barry wanting a better life, and every bit of that better life he’s trying to achieve has led to all this chaos.”
