Blood Sisters: Plot
The official synopsis of Blood Sisters provided by Netflix reads,
“Bound by a dangerous secret, best friends Sarah and Kemi are forced to go on the run, after a wealthy groom disappears, during his engagement party.”
The synopsis itself reveals plenty of questions. For instance, what is the bond that Sarah and Kemi share? Also, from the trailer that even though Kola looks perfect, he is not and he often hits his partner. The next question that arises out of revenge is, was he killed or was he kidnapped and does the family have any idea about the secrets? Other societal themes that the series might address include the societal norms of Nigeria and how the lives of Nigerian women are shaped.
Blood Sisters will be available on Netflix and the very first season of the series will only feature four episodes. It is expected that each episode will have a runtime of an hour.
Ebonylife Studios is the production company of the series. The crime thriller is directed by Biyi Bandele and Kenneth Gyang. The show is a part of the multi-title deal between Abudu and Netflix. The setup of the story is in Lagos. Here is a spoiler! The groom is killed by his partner and the story will revolve around themes such as love, relationships, commitment, substance abuse, physical abuse and intra-family relationships.
The show is supposed to be an ode to the life that exists in the city of Lagos and is expected to draw attention in the socio-economic division that exists in this hub of commercial and social togetherness. With the release date of the show so close, one can expect to see more trailers of it for sure.
What trailer looks like:
The trailer of the show truly looks interesting and it seems like it will be refreshing content on Netflix. However, a clear picture of the same will be visible once the show is aired. The popularity of the show along with the fact whether the audiences enjoyed it or not will decide whether there will be a second season of the series or not.
