Starz has finally renewed the Shining Vale freshman series for Shining Vale Season 2. The series features Greg Kinnear, Courtney Cox, and Mira Sorvino, who will be returning for the second season of this horror-comedy series. The series is created by Sharon Horgan and co-created by Jeff Astrof. The production companies involved in making Shining Vale Season 2 are Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment, Lionsgate TV, and Warner Bros. Television. The second season of Shining Vale will be featuring eight episodes, just like the first season that wrapped up recently on 17th April. The first show was a massive hit amongst the audiences.
Themes Of Shining Vale Season 2
Like the first season, the second season’s theme will revolve around motherhood, marriage, and adolescent parenting. The second season will again be an amalgamation of horror and comedy.
In the first season, Pat and Terry Phelps could be seen using their life savings to move to an old Victorian mansion from a broken Brooklyn apartment. The move was made to save the marriage of the couple, which was hit hard by the affair of Pat. This move pisses Gaynor and Jake, who are disconnected teenagers. Pat is also losing her relationship with her kids, and she is becoming distant from herself. Soon, paranormal activities start taking place in the mansion. This makes Pat believe that she is going crazy. Phelps then struggles with the ghosts both in the external and internal world.
In the first season, Rosemary was seen taking control of Pat’s body. The ghost then chases Terry, ending in an accident where he falls from the stairs. Later, Pat faints and wakes up at a psychiatric hospital. She sees a photo of the mansion where Pat and Terry are staying in the hospital, indicating that their mansion was previously used as a psychiatric facility.
The show also features Dylan Gage, Gus Birney, Sherilyn Fenn, and Judith Light.
Astrof, the co-creator of the show, while sharing her views on Season 2, said that they are excited to write the following eight chapters of Phelp’s life. The ending of season 1 left a vast scope for the second season. They are planning to raise the bar for Shining Vale Season 2. While commenting about the plot of Season 2, the co-creator said that it could be about anything. After all, they are Phelps.
The first season of Shining Vale is available on the Starz app in Canada and the U.S., Europe, Japan, and Latin America. Audiences can enjoy it on StarzPlay.
