Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi is the latest edition of the popular intergalactic animated franchise. The series is set to release in the fall of 2022. Created by Dave Filoni and Charles Murray, the show will be available to stream on Disney+.
The latest rendition of the Star Wars franchise is inspired by the comic book series of the same name. Filoni started work on the script for the show while Star Wars The Mandalorian was still under production. However, he did not give any official statement regarding the status of the series till May 2022.
Even though there has not been a Star Wars movie screened in theaters, the Sci-Fi universe of Star Wars has been active on various streaming platforms. The much-awaited series Obi-Wan Kenobi reunited Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen for the first time since Revenge of the Sith. The series was compared to the Star Wars cult classics such as The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. Nonetheless, the animated series of the fan-favorite universe has been thriving for years.
Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi Cast
Creators of the highly anticipated animated series have assembled a stellar cast for the upcoming edition. Multiple voice actors have joined the team. The most prominent of these is Liam Neeson, who will voice the character of Qui-Gon Jinn. Neeson is a household name in the industry that needs no introduction. The actor is probably best known for his role in the well-renowned Taken movies. He has been a part of the Star Wars universe for over a decade and has become an irreplaceable asset to the franchise. The veteran actor also has multiple accolades, including nominations for Emmy and Academy Awards.
Neeson’s son Michael Richardson will play the role of a young Qui-Gon Jinn. The Irish actor has only recently joined the film industry but is well-liked by fans for his talent. Janina Gavankar plays the role of Pav-ti, Ahsoka Tano’s mother. Janina is an American actress and musician who has been a part of the Star Wars universe for a while now and has played multiple roles in different franchise movies.
Matt Lanter will voice the character of Anakin Skywalker. The American actor is best known for his role in the popular crime drama series 90210. Apart from the mentioned characters, Ahsoka Tano, Mace Windu, Count Dooku, Bail Organa, Yaddle, and Ponda Baba will also appear in the latest animated series.
