Charlotte Anime Season 2 is due for a long time and the wait is getting more agonising by the day. P.A Work and Aniplex produced the popular first season of Charlotte which comprised of 13 episodes. The Japanese Anime series enjoyed positive reception for its evocative content. However, viewers found it too fast paced and anti-climactic.
Everyone recognised that Charlotte made use of some corny humor but all in all fans are praising the show. Let’s see what updates we have on Charlotte Anime Season 2.
What will be the Charlotte Season 2 Cast?
The interesting characters added a much needed spark in the show.
Some of the characters include Yuu Otosaka (the main protagonist), Yusa Nishimori who was the head of the student council, Jojiro Takajo who was a member of the student council and Nao Tamori who exposed Yuu.
However, since the story was rushed in the last episode it is possible new characters might be introduced in the next season. It’s too early to say anything because P.A works has made no official announcements.
When to expect Charlotte Season 2? It’s Release Date
Charlotte Season 1 premiered in July 2015. The show had 13 episodes with a duration of 25 minutes each. The concerning aspect for fans who are anticipating a second season is the finale episode of Season 1. Looking back, it doesn’t seem hard to understand why fans were criticising the last episode. The entire storyline was rushed. Viewers had to deal with an overwhelming amount of content crammed into just one episode. Ostensibly, the showrunners could have allowed season 1 to end at a reasonable pace and used the additional content for another season. However, their strategy seems different.
With the storyline rushed in the last episode it’s unlikely that another season could be on its way. Another reason for the uncertainty is that Charlotte is an original anime series and doesn’t have source material to produce additional content. Nonetheless, there is still a possibility of the showrunners renewing the anime series for Season 2.
In the case of Charlotte Anime Season 2 happening the showrunners will opt for new characters to create a spin-off. The spin-off might be based on the same premise but will explore different characters and themes.
What happens in Charlotte? What to expect in Season 2?
Charlotte is a short period comet which passes by Earth. The comet arrives after every 75 years and sprinkles magical dust upon passing by. The dust possesses the power to endow pre-adolescents with supernatural abilities upon hitting puberty.
The main protagonist, Yuu Otosaka, is one such pre-adolescent who manifested the superhuman abilities from the dust. Yuu finds that he can possess another person’s body for a few seconds. He hopes to use his newfound powers to his advantage in high school.
However, unfortunately things take a turn for the worse when Nao Tomori exposes Yuu. Nao also possesses the ability to become invisible to her desired target. As a result, Yuu has to move to Hoshinoumi Academy. He joins the student council and finds another member Jojiro Takajo who also has superpowers.
The student council is established for the safety of the students with superhuman abilities. They warn students of the dangers of exercising their abilities in front of others. Yusa Nishimori leads the council and has the ability to channel dead spirits.
What happened in the last episode of The Charlotte that left viewers unsatisfied?
The last episode of Charlotte Anime Season 1 has left viewers unsatisfied because Yuu’s journey required years. However, his mission was rushed and completed in the last episode. Viewers feel there was more to the story and a gradual evolution was the right course of action.
If the showrunners decide to make Charlotte Anime Season 2, the only reasonable approach is creating an adaptation of the original anime. Anime lovers would love a continuation more but the lack of source material is a setback.
Is there a trailer for Charlotte Season 2?
There is no confirmation of Charlotte Season 2 at the moment. From the rushed end of Charlotte Season 1, fans are rightfully frustrated at the showrunners. Charlotte had the potential to be a long running hit anime but the future for the franchise looks dim now. A trailer is out of the picture for now but let’s keep our hopes up. Hopefully Charlotte Anime Season 2 will come our way soon!
