The teen romance series focuses on the life of Isabel “Belly” Conklin as she goes on her annual summer vacation to a family friend’s beach house. The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 Plot

Disclaimer: The following section contains major spoilers from season 1 and information from book 2. Therefore, we recommend you only read ahead if you are done watching season 1.

Those who are familiar with both the book and the series, know that the show is an almost exact adaptation of the book. Hence, it is fairly easy to predict what season 2 may have in store for us.

The synopsis for book 2 reads,

“It used to be that Belly counted the days until summer – until she was back at Cousins Beach with Conrad and Jeremiah. But not this year. Not after Susannah got sick again, and Conrad stopped caring. Everything that was right and good has fallen apart, leaving Belly wishing summer would never come. But when Jeremiah calls, saying Conrad has disappeared, Belly knows what she must do to make things right again. And it can only happen back at the beach house, the three of them together, the way things used to be. If this summer really and truly is the last summer, it should end the way it started – at Cousins Beach.”

Unfortunately for fans, Susannah passes away in season 2, succumbing to her illness. This leads to Conrad closing himself off and asking Belly to choose Jeremiah. His disappearance leads Belly and Jeremiah to get together to find him. With the two now working together, it is clear that there is still more to the romance between Belly and Jeremiah.

There is a whole lot more heartbreak, and sadness headed our way as we make our way towards season 2. Nonetheless, alongside the sadness, season 2 also has a bunch of wholesome and beautiful moments in store for us.

In a conversation with E! News, Tung stated,

“There are a lot of really special scenes from the book. There are many, many special moments. I’m very excited to see the trajectory of Belly’s relationship with both of the boys and with everyone in her life. She can only continue to grow and to go on this journey, and I’m very excited to go on it with her.”

We are clearly very excited to see how the upcoming season develops Belly’s personality.

Trailer

Production for The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 is still in its initial stages. Hence, expecting a trailer for the show currently seems premature. If the second installment releases in June or July of next year, a trailer should ideally precede it by 3-4 weeks.
