The fifth season finale left its viewers at the edge of their seats. Luckily, fans do not need to wait much longer for answers to the questions the fifth season left them with because Station 19, season 6, is almost here! Station 19 is the latest spin-off of the cult favourite, Grey’s Anatomy. Prior to Station 19, Shondaland also released Private Practice (another Grey’s Anatomy spin-off). The series’ first season was released in 2017 and managed to steer much of the Grey’s Anatomy fanbase towards itself. Contrary to Grey’s Anatomy, the action drama series focuses on the daily lives and adventures of the firefighters of the Seattle Fire Station.

Executively produced by Paris Barclay, Betsy Beers, and Shonda Rhimes, the show comes under the banner of Shondaland and ABC Signature. Over its past five seasons, the series received pretty decent ratings. Currently, the series has a 6.7 out of 10 IMDb rating. McKee was the showrunner for the first two seasons of the show. However, from the third season onwards, Krista Vernoff took over.

Station 19 Cast

The team is yet to reveal the exact cast for Station 19 Season 6. Nonetheless, based on the fifth season’s ending, it is possible to predict who may return for the sixth installment. As per the current rumours, most of the cast would reprise their roles for the upcoming season. According to multiple reports, the following cast members would make a comeback:

Station 19 Cast
Station 19 Cast
  • Jaina Lee Ortiz as Andrea Herrera
  • Barrett Doss as Victoria Hughes
  • Jason Winston George as Dr. Benjamin Warren
  • Danielle Savre as Maya Bishop
  • Carlos Miranda as Lieutenant Theo Ruiz
  • Stefania Spampinatio as Carine Deluca
  • Jay Hayden as Travis Montgomery
  • Merle Dandridge as Chief Natasha Ross
  • Boris Kodjoe as Robert Sullivan
  • Pat Healy as former Chief Michael Dixon
  • Josh Randall as Captain Sean Beckett
  • Kelly Thiebaud as Eva Vasquez
  • Grey Damon as Jack Gibson

The main point to note about season 6 is that some of the recurring characters would now appear more regularly in Station 19 season 6. These include Josh Randall, Merle Dandridge, and Pat Healy.

Fans would see a lot more of josh Randall’s story as Captain Sean Beckett. Beckett is an experienced firefighter, fighting his own battle with alcoholism for years. The sixth season would further develop his story and struggles.

Merle Dandridge’s character of Chief Natasha Ross also has a much bigger role come season 6. Although from a military background, she leads a fairly stable professional life. However, Ross’s personal life poses a major threat to her career. The sixth season would hence, further show Chief Natasha trying to find a suitable balance between her personal and professional life.

Pat Healy’s Chief Michael Dixon is another character promoted to series regular. His controversial beliefs often conflict with those of the rest of the team. His decision to run as mayor would surely cause more tension within the team.

While most characters would return for the sixth installment, we cannot say the same for Grey Damon’s Jack Gibson. At the end of the fifth season, we saw an abrupt fight break out between Andy and Jack and Jack driving off, away from the city. Does this signify the character’s exit from the series or open a potentially new storyline? Only the new season would tell. Hence, the fate of Grey Damon in the upcoming installment remains unknown to fans.

Another addition to the main cast, Kelly Thiebaud, joins the sixth season more permanently as Eva Vasquez. Vasquez appeared in earlier seasons as well. A teaser revealed by ABC hinted at Kelly’s role.

It stated, “Misery loves company, and Eva finds solace with someone from her past.” viewers are surely curious to find out what this cryptic tease means.

Station 19 Release Date

Keeping in mind the major cliffhangers that the finale of season 5 left us with, it is not surprising that fans were restless for a sixth season almost instantly. Actress Danielle Savre, who portrays the character of Maya in the series, shared an Instagram video of the amazing update. Danielle captioned the video, “We’ve come a long way, but this is still just the beginning … Season 6, we’re comin’ for you.” Savre’s post doubled the excitement for the show’s fans. Not only did it confirm the status of the sixth installment, but it also gave them hope for future seasons as well.

Many speculated that the show would have an August release date, although that doubt was soon put to rest.

Many fans were still restless to find out when the new season would release. Well, the Shondaland and ABC team has its viewers covered. On June 16th, the official Instagram page for the series revealed that Station 19 season 6 would release on October 6th, 2022. The cast of the show further confirmed this news and shared the good news on their respective social media. If you are looking forward to the sixth season, then it is time you keep your Thursday nights free, starting in October. The series would air at 8 pm ET on ABC, and similar to the previous installments, it would have Grey’s Anatomy crossovers.

Where to Watch

Fans can watch the Station 19 season 6 episodes on ABC every Thursday at 8 pm, from October 6th onwards. Viewers who are not able to catch the series at 8 pm can always stream it online on the ABC.com website. The episodes air the next day on the site. While the site and its app are free, some series may ask for login information from your cable TV provider, so we advise you to have that ready.

The episodes would also be available on Hulu, Youtube TV, and FuboTV for those with subscriptions to the streaming platforms.

Station 16 Season 6 Plot

The Shondaland and ABC team are yet to reveal the synopsis for season 6. Nevertheless, based on the season 5 finale, we can predict a possible Station 16 season 6 storyline. It is likely that season 6 would pick up from where the previous season left off. The sixth season would probably have multiple character arcs, and subplots develop throughout its course. A major storyline that the writers may instantly address is the faith of Jack Gibson. In the season 5 finale, named “Crawl Out Through the Fallout,” viewers saw Jack driving off towards an unknown destination. Fans are eager to know what this signified and whether they would get to see more of him in the new season.

Moreover, it is likely that season 6 would feature multiple Grey’s Anatomy crossovers. This is because the show airs right after Station 19 on the channel. Furthermore, the more prominent roles of new characters would presumptively bring about new and more grappling storylines.

Station 19 Season 6 Trailer

The official trailer for Station 19 season 6 is yet to release. Nonetheless, given that the season premieres on ABC in October, the trailer would release soon. We expect the trailer to drop within the next couple of weeks.
