Is New Amsterdam Season 5 the last season?

New Amsterdam Season 5 will return to NBC in September. However, the show will soon end its run with the 5th season.

The upcoming season of New Amsterdam will be the last one of the franchise. NBC announced a while ago that the show will only have five seasons in total.

Freema Agyeman revealed via her Instagram account that she will not return for the 5th season of New Amsterdam.

New Amsterdam will return to NBC on 20th September. The last season will also be the shortest one, with 13 episodes in total.

Back in 2020, Deadline reported that the show has the potential of getting a spin-off! This news came from an NBC official. But this was announced at a time when the ratings were quite high.
