Get ready for the explosive showdown of MonsterVerse that will unravel in the new movie Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Here’s everything you need to know to prepare for what’s coming next.
Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire Release Date
The return of Godzilla and King Kong in Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire will be in theaters on March 29, 2024. After three years, two giant creatures will set their feet on the same ground. But this time, it is to defeat The Skar King, another danger who wants to rule the Hollow Earth.
Brian Roger’s movie was initially planned to be released on March 15, 2024, but it was pushed back to April 12, 2024. The strikes in Hollywood affected the production of other projects. Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire was also impacted by the ongoing strikes, but it is now set to be released two weeks prior. The movie’s theatrical opening was announced just a few hours after Sony announced another unexpected release date change. Yet, the new date still ensures minimal competition for the movie on its opening weekend.
Not just Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, but another anticipated film is lined up for this March. However, the production moved Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire from March 29 to March 22, 2024. Other than that, another future release lineup, Bong Joon-ho’s Mickey 17, made a notable shift in the release date. Due to a shooting delay, Bong Joon-ho’s “Mickey 17” has pushed its premiere to January 31, 2025.

What Is the Forthcoming Movie About?
Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire takes the deadliest monsters for another round of battle. In the previous film, Godzilla vs. Kong, we witnessed the face-off between Godzilla and Kong, which turned into an alliance. This alliance led to the defeat of Mecha-Godzilla. But another more dangerous threat knocked on their door three years later.
This new danger in MonsterVerse seems promising, yet it raises lingering uncertainties. Between the bloodshed, will the alliance remain between Godzilla and Kong? Or will the new enemy, The Skar King, be enough to tarnish the three-year-long peace the monsters maintained? To unravel these mysteries, brace yourself for an exhilarating cinematic journey.

First Look Through Trailer
The cult-favorite action-horror film finally released its first look through the official trailer. Warner Bros. has once again delivered stunning creature mayhem to shake MonsterVerse to its core.
The thirty-second-long trailer gives a sneak peek at the battleground, where no less than a monster can survive. This time, Warner Bros. Pictures introduced its villain in a blood-curdling way. In the trailer, an ape, seated regally on a throne, is surrounded by the remains of what seem to be Kong and Godzilla. Another clip shows a tense race between Godzilla and Kong, hinting at another face-off between the protectors of humanity.
Why Is Godzilla Pink in Godzilla X Kong?
The trailer depicted Godzilla’s unexpected transformation. In three years, Godzilla healed from the scars Mechagodzilla gave in the previous film and is back to rescue the day. Godzilla has become more potent in this cinematic universe, showing us new colors.
A scene from the preview clip shows him in a cocoon, which appears to be taking strength from the ground in a bright pink form. The crystalline cocoon resembles the pod from which MUTO grew, which shows how the movie is linked to the rest.
In the previous film, King Kong was seen using the same radioactive power from the Hollow Earth. He wielded an axe crafted from a spike originating from Godzilla’s ancestors. The axe happened to activate the energy from the ground and make Kong immensely powerful
Godzilla, much like Kong, will learn to draw power from the earth in this movie. This newfound power will sharpen his spikes, enhance his strength, and turn his spike root pink!
