We do not have an exact release date, but House of Dragon Season 2 will on June 16, 2024. JB Perrette, the head of Global Streaming and Games for Warner Bros. Discovery, recently confirmed that the show would premiere on HBO/Max this summer.

In November 2023, HBO chief Casey Blosy once discussed the ‘early summer’ release window. David Zasley, the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, also stated on February 23 that the series premiere will take place in the next quarter of the year.

Deadline reported that the show’s initial plan was to be 10 episodes long. But now, it has been cut down to a shorter season. An HBO spokesperson explained that the decrease in the number of episodes was story-driven.

Ryan Condal, the executive producer-showrunner, and George R.R. Martin thoroughly followed the book Martin’s Fire & Blood and broke down the scenes into respective seasons. The House of the Dragon team plans to divide the story to give their audience almost three to four seasons.

Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of HBO Programming, said in a statement. “We are beyond proud of what the entire House of the Dragon team has accomplished with season one.”
