Halloween is finally upon us, and it’s the perfect time to get excited about some scary movies that will be hitting theaters in the coming year. Evil Dead is arguably one of the most legendary franchises in the horror subgenre. A revival of the series will take place in 2023. The film is rightly titled Evil Dead Rise. The film will hit theaters next April. Recently, fans saw a new look at the highly anticipated movie in honor of the spooky vacation.
First Look Poster
The show’s star and producer, Bruce Campbell, shared an alarming image on social media of a female Deadite smiling through the peephole of an apartment door. We can see splattered blood across both the peephole and the Deadite. Campbell captioned the image, “Trick or treat, Deadites. Here’s the first look at Evil Dead Rise, which will hit theaters April 21.”
Evil Dead Rise: Plot
The upcoming Evil Dead movie is still in mystery. Still, plot information revealed so far indicates that the film will follow estranged sisters Ellie and Beth after they finally get together. However, due to unexplained circumstances, the two discover the terrifying Necronomicon, forcing both sisters to rely on a “twisted version of motherhood” to survive. The story takes place in the Los Angeles high-rise where Ellie, the older sister, lives, which is a first for the series.
Ellie has three children in the film. In this image, we get a frightening glimpse of this particular scene. The scary, fishbowl-like idea makes it difficult to identify the Deadite. However, the demon bears a striking resemblance to Alyssa Sutherland, who plays Ellie in the film. Ellie’s soul seems to have been claimed by the Necronomicon. It is terrible news for her descendants. The film’s main character, Beth, played by Lilly Sullivan, is determined to save her sister. Furthermore, she plans to get out of the terrifying skyscraper alive.
On April 21, 2023, Dead Rise will bring horror to Los Angeles. You can watch the movie in the nearest cinema hall. This results from the promotion of the series following its initial broadcast on HBO Max.
The movie’s cast includes Alyssa Sutherland, Lily Sullivan, Gabrielle Echols, Morgan Davies, Nell Fisher, and Mia Challis. Are you wondering about Bruce Campbell, Robert Tapert, or Sam Raimi? Let me assure you that they are all on board as producers. And that they are very involved in the making of the movie.
A Theatrical Release For Evil Dead Rise
Previously, Hollywood was preoccupied with the COVID pandemic. It was not sure if the cinemas would ever resume normal operations. Therefore, most of the film’s production was put on hold. Warner Bros. concluded that they did not want to take any chances and released Evil Dead Rise exclusively on HBO Max. The original plan was that this would be the first film in the franchise that would not go for a theatrical release. But things can and do change, which is excellent news for Evil Dead Rise.
In response to the overwhelming response from fans, Warner has now decided to release the film in theatres instead of showing it on HBO Max.
